25B-D017N104 Allen Bradley PowerFlex 525 AC Drive

Allen-Bradley 25B-D017N104 is a PowerFlex 525 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This drive is also referred to as a Adjustable Frequency AC Drive and Variable Speed Drive (VSD). This drive is primarily used to implement speed control of an AC motor as well as save energy and provide a more efficient control of the connected motor.

The 25B-D017N104 is capable of positioning control. It supports PointStop contro, is a technology that is a trademark of Rockwell Automation which is designed to stop the motor load in a consistent position without encoder feedback. It also supports Closed loop feedback with an optional encoder card and Point-to-point positioning mode. By default, the control capabilities of the 25B-D017N104 are Volts per Hertz (V/Hz), Sensorless Vector Control (SVC), Closed loop velocity vector control, and Permanent Magnet motor control. This variety of control method provides control flexibility and permits the drive to be operated in a wider application range.

The embedded I/O channels of the 25B-D017N104 PowerFlex 525 drive includes Two (2) Analog Inputs, Seven (7) digital inputs with Six (6) fully programmable inputs, One (1) analog output, Two opto-output and Two (2) relay outputs including Form A and Form B contacts.

Additionally, this drive is capable of acting as an RTU master via the embedded RS485 communication port. Up to 31 devices may be connected in a single RS485 network which may be composed of combination of Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives.
